Volleyball Recap: Porter-Gaud Cyclones vs. Northwood Academy Chargers
Porter-Gaud extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 7-10. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Northwood Academy Chargers. The Cyclones were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chargers earlier this season, when they won 3-2.
Malaya Singletary paced Porter-Gaud's offense, picking up 20 kills. Singletary got some help from Allie Abernathy and her 37 assists. Laney Barganier controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
As for Northwood Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-4-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since September 12, 2024.
