Softball Recap: Goleman Comes Up Short

Goleman managed to slip by Florida Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Gators came up short against the Patriots on Thursday, falling 16-1. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Goleman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Cardentey, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Cardentey has hit this season.

Goleman's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Florida Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goleman will host Hialeah Gardens at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gladiators have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.5 runs per game on average), something the Gators will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Florida Christian, they will be playing at home against Miami Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
