Basketball Recap: New Diana's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

New Diana needed a changed in momentum after dropping five straight games and they got it from Jolie Ballard. The New Diana Eagles were the clear victor by a 46-26 margin over the Daingerfield Tigers on Saturday thanks in part to Ballard, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (three).

Another player making a difference was Starrmia Dixon, who posted ten points and three steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

New Diana's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 12-14. As for Daingerfield, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Diana will face off against Hughes Springs at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Daingerfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Harmony at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harmony will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Daingerfield surely won't give up without a fight.
