Baseball Recap: Greenwood Has No Trouble Against Greenville

After only two runs in their last game, Greenwood made sure to put some runs up on the board against Greenville on Tuesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Red Raiders. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Red Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Luke Godwin made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Greenwood is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-6 otherwise. Godwin was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Greenwood got a massive performance out of Will Bice, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Rhett Brown was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Greenwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Greenwood's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Greenville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-12.

Coming up, Greenwood will head out on the road to take on North Augusta at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Greenville, they will host the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
