Alaya Martinez was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
