Football Recap: Jserra Catholic Falls to Sierra Canyon in First Game of Season + How To Watch

JSerra Catholic had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trailblazers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Jaxsen Stokes was a one-man wrecking crew For Sierra Canyon. as he rushed for 96 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Stokes a new career-high. De'Markus Barnes was another key player, gaining 98 total yards and a touchdown.

Coming up, JSerra Catholic will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Damien at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sierra Canyon, they will venture away from home to face off against Oaks Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 914 yards in their previous games.
