Baseball Recap: Lovington Comes Up Short

Lovington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jal Panthers. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one run.

Lovington's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Jal, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lovington will face off against Dexter at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dexter has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.8 runs per game on average), something Lovington will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Jal, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Jal Panthers face off against Santa Rosa Lions at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
