Football Recap: Lincolnton Comes Up Short + How To Watch

The matchup between Lincolnton and Stuart W. Cramer on Friday hardly resembled the 10-7 effort from their previous meeting. The Wolves came up short against the Storm, falling 45-21. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Storm: they've now lost four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Lincolnton lost, don't look at Rashad Lynch. Despite the final result, he threw for 184 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 107 yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stuart W. Cramer to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dominick McCorkle, who rushed for 128 yards and one touchdown. Those 128 rushing yards gave McCorkle a new career-high. Clee Phillips was another key player, rushing for 56 yards and a pair of scores.

Lincolnton's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for Stuart W. Cramer, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincolnton will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on West Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on the 31st. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they will head out to take on Cherryville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Storm will be up against the Ironmen's rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
