Basketball Recap: Clarkrange Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Clarkrange extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping them up to 3-0. They came out on top against the Sunbright Tigers by a score of 66-54. For the Buffaloes, this counts as revenge for the 62-53 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2024.

Clarkrange got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mason McWhirter out in front who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. That's the most points McWhirter has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bryton Swallows, who shot 64% from the field on his way to 16 points and six boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sunbright fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

Sunbright lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Noah Bunch, who had 19 points and five rebounds. The contest was his third in a row with at least 19 points. Noah Cox was another key player, putting up 13 points and five boards.

Coming up, Clarkrange is taking a road trip to take on Gordonsville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sunbright, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Upper Cumberland at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
