Basketball Recap: South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett]'s game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the Crowley County Chargers out 40-37. The score was all tied up 19-19 at the break, but the Patriots were the better team in the second half.

South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] found their leader in sophomore Sarah Elmore, who went 8 of 19 en route to 26 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Elmore has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Eliana Gutierrez also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nakayla Aguilar, who posted nine points. What's more, Aguilar also posted a 50% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Emalee Ross, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Crowley County, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 68-42 loss against Springfield on the 4th. As for Crowley County, they have also already played their next contest, a 46-25 victory against Swallows Charter Academy on the 3rd.
