Basketball Recap: Lapeer Comes Up Short

Lapeer lost against Davison back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The matchup between the Lapeer Lightning and the Davison Cardinals didn't end well, with the Lapeer Lightning falling 65-51. While losing is never fun, the Lightning can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Cardinals are ranked 161st).

Lapeer has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. The victory got Davison back to even at 10-10.

Lapeer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Davison, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals challenge the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Oxford's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
