Basketball Recap: Danville Blue Devils vs. Cardington-Lincoln Pirates
Danville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to the Cardington-Lincoln Pirates on the road by a 44-27 margin. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-34 back in December of 2024.
Cardington-Lincoln's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kinstin Henthorn led the charge by going 5 of 11 on her way to 15 points and four steals. Henthorn is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Abigail Hardwick, who went 6 for 14 en route to 13 points and four steals.
Danville's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Cardington-Lincoln, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Danville will square off against Fredericktown at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cardington-Lincoln, they will face off against Northmor at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Cardington-Lincoln is facing Northmor at the right time seeing as Northmor is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
