Softball Recap: Oswego Triumphs + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Oswego walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Naperville North Huskies 4-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Jaelynn Anthony spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Adalynn Fugitt, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Oswego is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Naperville North, they dropped their record down to 8-25 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Oswego nor the Huskies have any future games scheduled.
