Basketball Game Preview: Amity Regional Spartans vs. Wilbur Cross Governors

The Amity Regional Spartans will head out to square off against the Wilbur Cross Governors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Amity Regional lost 80-59 to Torrington on Tuesday. While the Spartans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Raiders 18-11 in the first quarter.

Hillhouse typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Wilbur Cross proved too difficult a challenge. They beat the Academics by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 76-69. Winning may never get old, but the Governors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Amity Regional has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Wilbur Cross, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

Amity Regional was dealt a bruising 87-53 defeat at the hands of Wilbur Cross in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Amity Regional avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
