Basketball Game Preview: Hamilton Big Blue vs. Mason Comets

The Hamilton Big Blue will venture away from home to face off against the Mason Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton will be strutting in after a victory while Mason will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Hamilton turned things around against Miamisburg on Tuesday. They walked away with a 68-58 win over the Vikings. The score was all tied up 31-31 at the break, but the Big Blue were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Mason was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against Lakota West, falling 66-29. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while the Firebirds are ranked 40th).

Mason's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Hamilton, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-11.

Hamilton won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, slipping by Mason 50-49. Will Hamilton repeat their success, or does Mason have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
