Soccer Game Preview: Woodgrove vs. Loudoun County

The Woodgrove Wolverines will take on the Loudoun County Captains at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Woodgrove will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Loudoun County better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Woodgrove's game on Monday is any indication, that's when Woodgrove really gets things going. The Wolverines' defense stepped up to hand John Champe a 3-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Woodgrove, who have now won three matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit John Champe with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jaden Park, Charlie Hughes, and Arturo Delao-Morales.

Meanwhile, Loudoun County hasn't lost a match since March 24th, a trend which continued in their latest game last Monday. They came out on top against Dominion by a score of 2-0. Given Loudoun County's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 57th, while Dominion are ranked 220th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Loudoun County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-1-1 record this season. As for Woodgrove, their win bumped their record up to 7-2-1.
