Softball Recap: Lakota East Comes Up Short

Lakota East fell victim to Fairfield and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 1-0. The Thunderhawks have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Kaleigh Crawford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Lakota East's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Fairfield, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakota East will face off against Princeton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fairfield, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Colerain at 5:00 p.m. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.15 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
