Staunton had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their defense stepped up to hand the Rustburg Red Devils a 4-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering Staunton have won 11 matches by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Staunton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those four contests. As for Rustburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10-2.

Coming up, Staunton will face off against Waynesboro at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Waynesboro will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Staunton surely won't give up without a fight. Rustburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
