Basketball Recap: John Adams Comes Up Short

John Adams was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 31-29 heartbreaker at the hands of the Garrett Morgan Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rebels of the 42-21 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Garrett Morgan found their leader in sophomore Anylaih Moore, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Moore is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 15 games she's played. Nia Sims was another key player, putting up five points.

John Adams' loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Garrett Morgan, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season.

John Adams didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 37-24 defeat against Max S. Hayes on the 27th. As for Garrett Morgan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-11 victory against East Tech on the 27th.
