Baseball Game Preview: Mountain View Toros vs. Hamilton Huskies

The Mountain View Toros will challenge the Hamilton Huskies on Tuesday.

Mountain View heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Saturday. They came up short against Casteel, falling 12-2. The Toros' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Mountain View saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kooper Klein, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hamilton faced Desert Vista in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Huskies had just enough and edged out the Thunder 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Thunder: they've now won three in a row.

Brady Wise looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jaylen Payne and Boston Kellner did most of the damage at the plate: Payne went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Kellner went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Hamilton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in five consecutive games.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 19-12. As for Hamilton, their victory bumped their record up to 23-7.

Mountain View skirted past Hamilton 8-7 in their previous meeting on Tuesday. Will the Toros repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
