Basketball Game Preview: West Rowan Falcons vs. Central Cabarrus Vikings

West Rowan is 2-8 against Central Cabarrus since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The West Rowan Falcons will venture away from home to challenge the Central Cabarrus Vikings at 7:00 p.m. West Rowan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Central Cabarrus likes a good challenge.

On Wednesday, West Rowan didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lake Norman Charter, but they still walked away with a 74-69 win.

Meanwhile, Central Cabarrus was able to grind out a solid victory over Lake Norman Charter on Tuesday, taking the game 79-69. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

West Rowan better keep an eye on Kevonta' Martin. He was instrumental in Central Cabarrus' win, going 13 for 20 en route to 31 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Martin a new career-high in points. Cayden Smith was another key player, putting up ten points.

Central Cabarrus is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for West Rowan, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-13.

West Rowan came up short against Central Cabarrus in their previous meeting back in January, falling 76-65. Can West Rowan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
