Myrtle waltzed into their matchup on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Byers Lions 15-1. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by eight runs or more this season.

Wes Stanton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Myrtle got a massive performance out of Cade Brown, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave Brown a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hunter Davis, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3.

Myrtle pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Byers, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Coming up, Myrtle will be playing at home against Ingomar at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Byers will be paying especially close attention to the Hawks' game: after the Hawks faces off against the Falcons, they'll take on Byers again at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
