Preview: Monroe County Tigers vs. Hillcrest Jaguars
Monroe County is 0-10 against Hillcrest since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The pair will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Monroe County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Straughn by a score of 42-40. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Monroe County has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Hillcrest unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 82-81 to Georgiana. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Monroe County's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Hillcrest, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Monroe County came up short against Hillcrest when the teams last played back in January, falling 64-55. Can Monroe County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
