Baseball Recap: Bucklin's Loss Ends 11-Game Winning Streak at Home

Bucklin dropped their record down to 7-4 on Thursday, which also ended the team's 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell 7-2 to the Cimarron Bluejays. The Red Aces were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bluejays apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Bucklin saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JT Prusa, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. Prusa has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times he's played.

As for Cimarron, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games.

On Cimarron's side, Coulter Dohrmann spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 14 Ks.

At the plate, Cimarron let Logan Simon and Alex Schlesener run wild. Simon went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Schlesener got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Schlesener has posted since back in April.

While Bucklin had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
