Basketball Game Preview: Kenedy Lions vs. Port Aransas Marlins

Kenedy is 2-8 against Port Aransas since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Kenedy Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Port Aransas Marlins at 6:15 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Kenedy is returning to their home court after beating Yorktown on theirs, despite the fact Yorktown has dominated at home this season. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, Kenedy made off with a 50-49 win over Yorktown.

Meanwhile, Port Aransas waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Bulldogs 43-13. The Marlins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Port Aransas has also been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.6 points per game. As for Kenedy, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
