Volleyball Recap: Dixie Find Success

Dixie posted their closest victory since August 15, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past the Roy Royals 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Flyers.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Dixie who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 23-25, 15-10.

Avaya Jo Carter paced Dixie's offense, picking up eight kills. Carter got some help from MJ Mauninatu and her 20 assists. Emma Nelson and Shae Stephens kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Dixie's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Roy, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Dixie is on the road again on Saturday to play Cyprus at 10:00 a.m. Roy has already played their next matchup (against Logan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
