Basketball Recap: Winona Takes a Loss

Winona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Edwards Tigers and fell 68-33. While losing is never fun, Winona can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Edwards is ranked 51st).

Winona's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Edwards, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Humphreys County the next time they take the court. Winona will host Humphreys County at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Edwards will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
