D'Hanis is 7-2 against Sabinal since August of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Cowboys will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. Sabinal took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on D'Hanis, who comes in off a win.
D'Hanis took a 21-point defeat the last time they faced off against La Pryor, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cowboys slipped by the Bulldogs 27-26 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cowboys.
D'Hanis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Evan Craft led the charge by throwing for 141 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also rushing for 56 yards. The Cowboys' leading receiver Josiah Rodriguez was Craft's top target yet again, picking up 84 receiving yards and one score.

D'Hanis' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Joe Ruiz and Kase Braden, who racked up four sacks between them. Ruiz also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because D'Hanis is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Sabinal's game on Friday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 42-35 to Brackett. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 18, 2020, but that streak is no more.
D'Hanis will have to keep a close watch on Andy Reyes and Kannen Rihn, a pair of players who had a big impact on Sabinal's prior game. Reyes picked up 89 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Rihn picked up 57 receiving yards and one TD. Reyes didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended three passes.
Sabinal now has a losing record of 3-4. As for D'Hanis, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
D'Hanis strolled past Sabinal when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 28-13. Will the Cowboys repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
