After losing to Hampton the last time they met, Smackover decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Smackover Buckaroos blew past the Hampton Bulldogs 14-7 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buckaroos.
Ava Walker and Emily Camacho were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Walker pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Camacho pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off only two hits. At bat, Walker scored a run while going 2-for-5, while Camacho scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Camacho is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Smackover let Jaylyn Crawford and Nataleh Goodwin run wild. Crawford scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Goodwin scored two runs and stole a base. Emerson Neal was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-4.
Smackover now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hampton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
