Basketball Game Preview: Faith Christian Eagles vs. South Newton Rebels

The Faith Christian Eagles will head out on the road to take on the South Newton Rebels at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Faith Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. The match between them and Rossville didn't end well, with Faith Christian falling 84-68. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, South Newton played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Carroll, falling 71-37. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 442nd, while the Cougars are ranked 167th).

Faith Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for South Newton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

Everything came up roses for Faith Christian against South Newton in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 70-41 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Faith Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
