Softball Recap: Westminster Academy Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Westminster Academy's offense. They fell 5-0 to the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Westminster Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. The win (which was Cardinal Gibbons' eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Looking ahead, Westminster Academy will square off against West Port at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they will face off against Archbishop McCarthy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Archbishop McCarthy has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
