Basketball Recap: Lone Star Extends Winning Streak to Two

Lone Star won the last time they faced Hi-Plains, and Grant Kuntz did his part to make sure it happened again. The Lone Star Longhorns walked away with a 38-31 win over the Hi-Plains Patriots on Friday thanks in part to Kuntz, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. Kuntz is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

When it comes to explaining why Hi-Plains lost, don't look at Aiden Cordell. Despite the final result, he posted 22 points and three steals. That was a full 71% of Hi-Plains' points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

The victory made it two in a row for Lone Star and bumps their season record up to 2-3. As for Hi-Plains, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Lone Star has already played their next matchup, a 61-19 win against Deer Trail on the 11th. As for Hi-Plains, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-12 loss against Idalia on the 11th.
