Volleyball Recap: Eastwood Takes a Loss

Eastwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lake Flyers. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Flyers earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

While Eastwood ultimately came up short, they really made Lake work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 27-25, 25-20, 18-25, 15-5.

Mackenna Miller paced Eastwood's offense, picking up 29 kills. Miller got some help from Olivia Riter and her 37 assists. Ivy Schrader controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Eastwood's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Lake, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.

Eastwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Defiance on the 29th. As for Lake, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Avon on the 27th.
