On Friday, Wylie East was able to grind out a solid win over Wylie, taking the game 49-37. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Raiders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 479th, while the Pirates are ranked 191st).

Lakeview Centennial might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 47-44 to Wylie, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wylie East's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-13. As for Lakeview Centennial, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-9.
