Basketball Recap: Kirtland Wins Going Away Against Madison

Madison typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Kirtland proved too difficult a challenge. They took down the Madison Blue Streaks 74-60. This was payback for the Hornets, who suffered a 58-53 loss the last time these two teams met.

Madison lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Parker Williams, who went 6-for-8 en route to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mac Steele, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 14 points and four steals.

The win made it two in a row for Kirtland and bumps their season record up to 14-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.5 points over those games. As for Madison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-7.

Looking ahead, Kirtland will be playing at home against Rittman at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. As for Madison, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 71-60 defeat against Perry on the 15th.
