Baseball Game Preview: Westfield Mustangs vs. Eisenhower Eagles

Westfield is on a six-game streak of home losses, and Eisenhower a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Westfield Mustangs will be playing at home against the Eisenhower Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Benjamin Davis hit Westfield with a six-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 9-8. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by just one run.

Enrique Gonzalez and Kayden McNatt stepped up to the plate in a big way. Gonzalez got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while McNatt went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Eisenhower lost 23-8 to Aldine on Thursday.

Davion Carrier made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Eisenhower's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 6-14 when he doesn't). Maddox Zequeria was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Eisenhower's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Westfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-20.
