Baseball Recap: IMG Academy Royal Victorious

IMG Academy Royal picked up another tournament win on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Melbourne Bulldogs. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ascenders.

IMG Academy Royal got a great performance from Zach Brauer as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Furthermore, Brauer didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

On the hitting side, Connor Scheich and Jacques Gawlik did most of the damage at the plate: Scheich scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Gawlik went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The dominant performance gave Gawlik a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Pino, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

IMG Academy Royal's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Melbourne, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

IMG Academy Royal wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-3 loss against George Jenkins on the 19th. As for Melbourne, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-6 victory against Treasure Coast on the 19th.
