Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Aplington-Parkersburg). They blew past the Union Knights 11-1 on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Falcons as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Aplington-Parkersburg's win bumped their record up to 2-11. As for Union, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Aplington-Parkersburg and Union could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings. The Falcons will face off against Belmond-Klemme at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (265 vs. 106). Meanwhile, Union (ranked 292nd) will meet Jesup (ranked 84th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
