4A Region II District 9 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Liberty made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,575 from 4,703. The improvement was the result of 17-10 victory over Heritage last week.
Centennial led 4A Region II District 9 in scoring this week after putting up 38 points on Frisco. Lamar Jordan threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 12 yards in the win.
The Titans' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Chris Johnson chipped in 117 yards. Stoney Hawkins helped Centennial's passing attack out by catching three balls for 41 yards.
Cody Bagwell was the best wideout in the league this week as Centennial beat the Raccoons. Bagwell racked up six receptions for 114 yards.
On the ground, The Colony's Bryan Hammond has rushed for 1026 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Torii Hunter Jr. The Prosper star has 41 catches for 791 yards.
Keaun Kinner of the Little Elm is only 36 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 119 carries Keaun Kinner has accumulated 964 yard this year.
A big matchup in 4A Region II District 9 this week will be when Mark Howard's team takes on the Cougars. At the moment, the Titans are in second, while The Colony is in fifth.
The Lobos fell 31-27 to Prosper in the closest game of the week.
