Baseball Recap: Three Straight Home Victories for Malone

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Tuesday. Malone's pitchers stepped up to hand Graceville a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Malone, who have now won six matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Timothy Evans made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Hoke Harkrider was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kris Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Malone lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Malone's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Graceville, Bethlehem, and Bethlehem. As for Graceville, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Coming up, Malone will welcome North Bay Haven Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Graceville, they will head out to take on Bethlehem at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
