Recap: Miller Place Panthers vs. Islip Buccaneers
The Miller Place Panthers lost against the Islip Buccaneers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Miller Place ended up on the wrong side of a tough 58-38 walloping at the hands of Islip. Miller Place has not had much luck with Islip recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Miller Place lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Julie Orenzo, who scored 13 points. Ava Zicchinelli was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Miller Place has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Islip, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Miller Place will head out on the road to take on Kings Park at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kings Park is coming into the contest with seven straight victories at home, so Miller Place is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Islip does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
