Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Paul walked away with it. They had just enough and edged the Western Christian Fighting Lancers out 2-1 on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Swordsmen as they're now sitting on three straight.

Robert Alvarado and Matthew Almaraz scored both of St. Paul's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 23 goals.

St. Paul pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Western Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.

Looking ahead, St. Paul will challenge La Quinta at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Western Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
