Basketball Recap: Northland Christian Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Northland Christian couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Hill Country Christian School of Austin Knights on Tuesday, falling 72-51. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 67-34 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2021.

When it comes to explaining why Northland Christian lost, don't look at Andon Newton. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points. Newton has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Spencer Townsell was another key player, putting up 13 points and seven boards.

Northland Christian's loss dropped their record down to 24-8. As for Hill Country Christian School of Austin, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 26-3.
