While Kaufman's win against Terrell wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Tigers on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.
Kaufman got a big performance out of Brayden Gomez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Gomez a new career-high. Angel Montes was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Kaufman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Kaufman's record is now 10-14-1. As for Terrell, they dropped their record down to 1-22 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
