Basketball Game Preview: Rangeley Lakes Lakers vs. Valley Cavaliers

The Rangeley Lakes Lakers will square off against the Valley Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Rangeley Lakes: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Valley has snatched up nine consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.

Last Thursday, Rangeley Lakes came up short against Richmond and fell 61-49.

Meanwhile, Valley blew past Vinalhaven, posting a 79-23 win. The Cavaliers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 22 points or more this season.

Valley's victory bumped their record up to 15-0. As for Rangeley Lakes, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

Rangeley Lakes was taken down by Valley 88-51 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Rangeley Lakes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
