Basketball Recap: SPIRE Academy Takes a Loss

SPIRE Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 48-36 to the Example Academy Eagles. While losing is never fun, the SPIRE can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 212th in Ohio, while the Eagles are ranked 11th in Illinois).

SPIRE Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Example Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

SPIRE Academy will square off against Reynoldsburg at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Example Academy, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Lutheran West at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
