Baseball Recap: Wortham Find Success

Wortham hadn't done well against Mart recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Panthers 8-6. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 13-9 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Tyler Langley was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Wortham always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .520 or higher in three consecutive games.

Wortham's victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Wortham will be taking part in a tournament against Dawson at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Wortham's pitchers better be ready for this one: Dawson has averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Mart, they will face off against Bruceville-Eddy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
