Basketball Recap: Big Bend Comes Up Short

Big Bend was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Dell City Cougars, falling 70-33. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Roadrunners of the 64-44 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Despite the loss, Big Bend still got an impressive performance from Rigoberto Guevara, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Adriel Guevara, who earned eight points.

Dell City was led to victory by Jerry Loya and Isaac Estrada. Loya went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 21 points, while Estrada went 8 of 20 en route to 21 points. The contest was Estrada's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Galvan, who put up ten points.

Big Bend's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Dell City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Big Bend will take on Fort Davis in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on December 17th. Big Bend is facing Fort Davis at the right time seeing as Fort Davis is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Dell City, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 53-39 defeat against Sanderson on the 12th.
