Recap: Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs vs. Eastside Eagles
The Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Eastside, falling 56-3. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Winder-Barrow in their matchups with Eastside: they've now lost four in a row.
Evan Lynn threw for 80 yards on nine of 20 attempts. Kenyan Glasper was his top target, picking up 39 receiving yards. On the ground, Xavier Mccoy rushed for 101 yards.
Eastside found their leader in underclassman Payton Shaw, who threw for 165 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes. Cameron Griffieth was another key contributor, rushing for 63 yards and a touchdown.
Winder-Barrow has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Eastside, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Winder-Barrow will head out on the road to face off against Clarke Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Clarke Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four last Thursday. As for Eastside, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. Jefferson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
