Baseball Game Preview: California Pintos vs. Southern Boone Eagles

California hasn't had much luck against Southern Boone recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pintos will host the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

California had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt St. Paul Lutheran on Friday. The Pintos put the hurt on the Saints with a sharp 9-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Pintos, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Southern Boone entered their tilt with Tipton on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Cardinals get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory.

Southern Boone's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for California, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.
